Family Therapy

Make your Family a Resource

Family therapy is for everyone because everyone deserves a safe and loving family.

It aims to help family to go through difficult times such as grief and loss, betrayal and hurt; adapting to new phase such as marriage, newborn, empty nest.

If you notice an emotional cut-off or overly closed relationships in your family, may be it is time for your family to come together for family therapy.

Cheryl helps families to re-connect and see the resilience in each other. She always helps her clients to reframe and restructure the dysfunctional family system to a more functional and healthier home!

Clinical Supervision

A Personal Trainer of your

Clinical Work

Cheryl's supervision focuses on (a) theory & conceptualization, (b) specific skills that you want to apply deliberately, (c) identifying countertransferance, its manifestations, roots, how to work on it, (d) dealing with multidisciplinary team or system, (e) report preparations.

Supervisee can pick a specific skill and show videos of how they do their  work and they can fine tune it step by step like a personal trainer.

As the trust is built, she can also help to spot “blind spot”, differentiate if it’s a competence barrier or countertransference barrier.

A Warm Welcome & What to Expect in Our First Session

Hello, this is Cheryl.

If you’re reading this, it probably means you or someone you love is going through a difficult time. You might be tired, stuck, or unsure about the next step. I want you to know—you don’t have to go through this alone. It’s okay to reach out before you have it all figured out.

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re already carrying so much. I encourage you to speak with the therapists you’ve shortlisted and notice how you feel in those first conversations. The right fit matters—it’s about feeling safe, understood, and respected.

Before our first session, I’d like to share with you what to expect and how we’ll get started.

Before we meet
To make our first session as meaningful as possible, I’ll invite you to complete an intake form, a few assessment questionnaires, and to read through an informed consent document. These help me understand your background, current concerns, and any important mental health, cultural, or medical factors.

Some of these assessments can be a little lengthy, and that’s okay—you’re welcome to take your time completing them. If at any point you can’t finish them or need extra time, just let me know. There are no right or wrong answers—this is simply a way for me to get to know you and your story before we meet.

Our First Meet
We’ll begin with a gentle, open conversation about your experiences—what’s been happening, what’s hurting, and what you’d like to change. This isn’t about putting you into a box. It’s about starting with understanding, so we can work in a way that feels right for you.

My approach
I believe everyone has an innate capacity to heal when supported by a safe, empathetic connection. My main approaches are Emotion-Focused Therapy and Multigenerational Family Therapy, though I may also draw on other techniques if they will serve you better at a particular stage. My role is to help you transform unresolved pain into deeper connection—with yourself and others.

What to expect
Therapy isn’t a quick fix—it’s a process. There may be lighter moments and heavier ones, but over time, small shifts can lead to powerful, lasting changes. Sometimes, you might even be the first person in your family to break a cycle that has been passed down for generations.
